The commands need some work. A lot of movement actions get jammed while firing.
No. I am sorry but this won't cut it. The game has some huge design flaws and I believe level 6 summarizes them all. And can't tell you how frustrating it is to play a game like this. Just think about it. How many red ships do you really need to through at me? If you can't attack and you're running, how can you possibly avoid being bounced around when your ball accidentally hits things around? Why is the ships movement slower than the mouse response? What is this game suppose to measure? Luck? It is not so much about how hard it is, but if you even have a decent shot at beating it. And I feel you simply do not.
Good game. Here are my pointers for great
Naturally this is my opinion so naturally it is subjective.
I am a fan of "per turn" games and I think you did a great job here. So lets say that you do not really need to improve the concept when you do the second one (hopefully you will). However once you get a successful strategy with your character you need nothing else to win the game, independent of which creature you are fighting. A couple of creatures with different attributes (such as resists, etc) would have forced me to come up with different strategies depending on the arrangement of the enemies throughout the dungeon.
The last level was rather disappointing since it had no real boss, and most enemies were distributed one per room, which made it rather easy. I also found the game short which is a good sign in the sense that it leaves you wanting more, but still adding to the disappointment.
Also I would like to point out that I disagree with your classification of who is the easiest character: the fighter definitely did not work for me; the wizard for some reason leveled really slowly in comparison (I think it is associated with the fact that I killed most creatures with an opening fireball... I don't know if that makes a difference but you should look into it). The one that you said would be the most challenging turned out to be the easiest for me, i.e. the thief. Comparing with other reviews below it seems that the one which is the easiest to use is merely a matter of taste and gameplay, which again makes your game a successful one for allowing disparity in character preference.
So, I look forward to number 2 and hopefully it will be even better.
Wait a minute...
...I still have another hand I can use! MILLIONAIRE
cheap copy of the game "motherload"
Very little innovation over the original game done ages ago called Motherload (search it! Newgrounds must still have it). Furthermore, I see no credits for xgen studios since they came up with the original concept. I have been a member for too long. I have no problems with repeated ideas but I do have a problem with literally identical ones without having enough being put on top of them. In fact I consider this game to be a downgrade.
3/10 for not using the original coding.
I just had to write a review
I think this flash has been highly under-scored. Rather than seeing it as a game perhaps you would see it as an interactive flash animation with interesting endings, wonderfully fluid animation, and great music. The comedy is delightful, and you can find substance and even deepness depending on your angle regarding cliches of our modern life (not necessarily talking about the suicide bit, more about the colorful set that serves as background) though you do not have to go down that road. For me it was just an enjoyable experience.
great game, great job
For me, what is lacking, is simply a zoom in tool (especially useful for those laptop aficionados). That's it. Other than that really great game.
command are quite annoying
My single criticism is that you should redefine the shooting methodology that you implemented:
1- you should be able to change aim direction while shooting
2- you should be able to aim with the mouse.
In other way seems unpractical or counter-intuitive.
Bugs and glitches: Medals
Hi. Very good game. It did not disappoint in any way from the first one. NG members were already fairly critical of your work and provided you with enough information about the bugs, which like some members have said, hinder and annoy but have not been so determinant that you would simple abandon the game (as if you could anyway ^^). I also have problems with getting the characters locked (which seem to be unlocked by clicking on the items bag and closing it again, when this is possible). I have had deaths that were not counted at first, though after a second go at it were in the end counted. I also had a situation were the skull was exchanged by a second arm (though I did not have 2 arms in the end on the items bag), a situation in which a fairy went into bezerk mode and kept on crashing against the shield held by the "face-stealer", another one in which I was simply not allowed to click on mushrooms, some glitches regarding selecting day or night in which day did not come at all, or night came just by exchanging the stones, even though the moon was not selected, and a situation in which you could hit the old man, or that after being killed the first time by the 2 rocks they simply become inactive, meaning that the rocks are still held high but do not clap.
Now about the medals. You said that there was one that did not work. I am sure the remaining ones do work but I am not able to get them. Either way, I am writing here the ones I got in case the remaining ones are unobtainable because of a glitch:
-between a rock and a hard rock
-never hit an old men
(did not get revenge)
-where's my arm
-a trusty hat
- a woman's tears
-till part 3...
-grimm master 2
(secret medal... secret because I did not get it :( )
-your head essplode!
Thank you for the great game.
I second catalyste's opinion stuck in game
It was really interesting... until I got stuck. Could you please fix the bug?
